These are the atelier's heaviest pieces: raw silk and tissue silk in deep reds, rusts, maroons and burgundies, worked all over in zardozi, dabka, aari, cutdana, nakshi and sequins by our own karigars over weeks at the frame. Every bridal lehenga is made to measure, with a boned waistband built to carry the weight of the embroidery, a stitched-in can can and one or two dupattas.
Most Amaltas brides begin with a consultation at the atelier and have their piece made to their own brief, shade and motifs. Collection pieces can also be bought as they are and altered to fit.
